Our History

The shop started in 1798 and has evolved to the changes in the environment which has seen it from sharping razor baldes and knives to sports specialists.

In 1998, the current premises was opened after extensive buidling works at the site.

In 1912, one of the lifeboats on the Titantic was cut free using a knive which was sharpened in Barton Smith.
