It is always useful at mayflytime to have patterns with a variety of colours from dark olive shades to medium to bright gaudy patterns. The latter bear no resemblance to the natural insect but can be very successful. This pattern for Lough Erne in County Fermanagh is one of the brightest and has proven itself far beyond its lough of origin.
